Satmap Active 10 Firmware Update HowTo
To make the most of your Satmap Active 10, you should ensue that you’ve updated it to the latest firmware.
Here’s a short HowTo on updating your Satmap 10 using OSX on a Apple Mac.
Step1: Go to the Satmap Website, and download the Apple OSX Application, this is currently in beta, but works perfectly well.
Step2: Install the downloaded package, depending on your browser settings this may happen automatically, we’re using Google’s Chrome, simply double click on the downloaded file at the bottom of your browser window.
You’ll be presented with the standard OSX installer dialog as shown below
Step3: Updating your Satmap Active10
Ok, so now you can start the SatSync software, this is found in the usual OSX applications directory.
Step4: Check for Updates.
Go to the main Satsync menu item, and select “Check online for Updates”
At this point you’ll be informed by the software that you’ve not got your Satmap Active 10 connected.
Step5: Plug Satmap Active 10 into a USB port.
Ok, so with the Satmap now connected, lets try again.
If you happy to proceed, hit the update button. And wait.
At this point please check the following
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the Hibernate Timeout is turned off. (If this is available on your unit: Main Menu > Settings > Advanced Power Control > Hibernate Timeout and move the joystick left or right until it reads “Off” and then press Done.
Step6: You should now disconnect the USB cable, Press the Power Off button and then press the Yes button to confirm that you wish to power off the device.
If you re-connect, you can confim that your unit is up-to-date.
Step7: You’re now ready to enjoy all those additional features on your Satmap.
